need more horsepower

2 things I did that cost nothing and give more throttle response is: open front of air intake box up; removed side flange from flap in throttle body.
Easy and cheap!
 
you could buy a cheap cold air intake of ebay for like $30

Being an 1992, there in not much you can do other then install and better exhaust system. Best for the 1992 4.3 is a single 2.5 inch high flow exhaust like flowmaster.

The other thing also is the TBI is fuel pressure sensitive so make sure your fuel filter is always replaced to ensure it's clean and keeping the throttle body and injectors clean.

The MAP sensor should also be replaced to ensure you getting the right amount of air/fuel ration in to your intake system. Being a 1992 i am sure there's got to have some carbon coating the sensor lol.

Last thing that would help is to add a throttle body spacer which help a better air flow in to your intake manifold for a better fuel mixing with the air.

Good luck and these are just a few simple things that can be done other then swapping out the ECM chip.

As for the transmission which is always forgotten. Swap out the servo's with Corvette servo's and the boost valve and sleeve for a firmer transmission shift and reliability:D

yesterday i did a seafoam treatment to my intake and last week i poured some in gas and oil that takes care of carbon build up but does anyone know if there is anything that works as well as seafoam does on sludge in the oil other than regular oil changes because i do that anyway
