new engine

Could someone explain to me why a new engine in my truck LOWERS it's value? It was not wrecked or anything, It had a cam bearing go bad so I replaced it with a crate motor. NOW when I talk about trading or selling it(want a cheaper payment) the instant the new engine gets mentioned, they haul a$$ the other way like I have a stinkbug. It's an 06 crewcab z71 SLT....a really nice truck, and it looks like we're stuck together!

To a truck owner its worth more, but i sold cars for a long time and a dealership wont touch it because parts are not original. they cant sell extended warranties and make their money out of it because they cant stand behind the installation work and people automatically think the truck has been abused to need a new engine so quickly.........retarted i know but thats the way they are. hope this helps
