New guy here, first GMC ever !!

Good morning all..

Just want to jump in by reading as much as possible at first ! I have just gotten a 2004 GMC SLS Sonoma w/ 130k on the clock. Have to say I just "dont know nuthin yet" about it ! I have been a long time (20+ years) Ford Ranger owner, got over 300k on my 4cyl XLT and still get 23 mpg average with it. NOW I want to bring back this beautiful little GMC to its full beauty.. hope everyone will be patient as I ask what might appear to be "dumb questions" from time to time. For the time being its read everything here that I can and just learn form you guys/girls... Good to be on board !

Hello again all...

Ran across an auxilliary chip from GF_Performance that says it can boost the Sonoma's mpg as well as overall power, after the chip set has time to learn from the existing engine ECU... The installation looks simple, and the cost is quite reasonable at $69 US.. Have any of you tried this... and if yes, what were your results ??

I have tried the chips and Hyper Tech programmer neither one does much, I had the Hyper Tech on my 00 Blazer 2wd 5spd I had the setting to performance mode and ran it in the 1/4 mile I then set it back to stock and ran the same times. My last to 4.3 motors I sent my PCM to be tuned at Garrett tuning and it makes a big difference on performance and gas mileage. Hope this helps.
