New Guy question, iPhone pairing

New to the forum and to GMC products, just bought a 2013 Acadia Denali. Sat at the dealers for 3 hours try to get my iPhone 5 to pair, had 3 sales reps try but to no avail, their "Tech guy " was off for the day so everyone tried to help.
Was just wondering if anyone else has had a problem?
