Hi,
I got a 2000 GMC Sierra PU and the horn stopped working for a little, then it started working again.
Well now it stopped again.
I checked the relay and it was good, also checked that the horn worked and it does.
Talking to a few people they believe that the contact at the steering wheel could be dirty or broke, so I need to remove my airbag to check things out.
I found a write up on how to remove the bag, and it talks about using a flat blade tool or screwdriver to push the perches in and release the pins holding the bag on. I checked for the slotted holes they were referring to and on my steering wheel it has torx screws.
So am I correct in thinking I just need to losen the torx screws or is there something else I need to do as well.
I know I need to disconect the SIR system and can I do this by removing the yellow jumper down by the brake pedal or would removing the negative battery cable enough?
Thanks
Bruce
