That is a good deal for the year of suburban, just make sure the brake, fuel line and gas tank is not corroded to much. The other thing also to keep in mind that the fuel consumption on the older Suburbans like the 1990 will be worst then the newer ones with the 4 speed transmission. Turbo 400 transmission is a 3 speed transmission with no overdrive:eek:

Agreed, go for the one with the best maintenance history. Depending on hitch weight; a 5000lb trailer can have upwards of 750lbs hitch weight or more depending on how you pack it, a half ton should suit you fine. If you plan to carry 6 adults with luggage in the back and the trailer is 500lbs or less on the hitch, you'll be fine with a half ton and have a much better ride quality when towing or not. Personally I'd go with the 2500 for the heavier suspension, as it'll give you less squat when driving and a bit more stability. Also, a weight distribution hitch can add another 50-100lbs onto the tongue weight as well....

Be sure to keep within the weight ratings and you'll be fine with either. If you plan to drive it more not towing, then you'll want one with overdrive!
