new power steering pump squeal

2000 sle 5.3, new napa auto parts power steering pump squeal, it happens left and right as well as just driving down the road.any help would be great.Thanks

so both of my trucks did this, a whining noise
replaced serpentine belt no more noise
check your belt if you put a new pump on it maybe you put the belt so it is rotating opposite direction than it was, that may cause a noise

I had a 99 Ranger with a squealing unit. My son has an 04 Colorado that was grabby in turns and groaning. I have a friend who races and long ago clued me into Lucas products. I used Lucas power steering stop Leak in both units and they cleared up. Yes I know you didn't mention a leak but it can't hurt. Just draw some old stuff out of the reservoir and add some Lucas. Lucas also makes straight power steering fluid which may work for you. Yep it's more expensive than other products but it's worth it IMHO.
