Ditched my 2005 Tacoma with 128k miles for a 2014 Sierra Crew Cab Short Box All Terrain. Iridium Metallic, chrome rims, black runners, mud flaps and spray on Bedliner.
I love this truck! Light years ahead of the Tacoma. So far I have 320 miles on it, and I am averaging 19.4 mpg as per the computer. I drive 30 miles a day to work, all back roads. Very surprised with the fuel efficiency so far. I honestly wish my drive was farther!
I was very close to pulling the trigger on a Ram Hemi, but the 15 mpg on the 8 speed wasn't good enough. Plus, the Sierra has a much nicer interior IMO.
I do have a question though. Does the 2 year maintenance plan for oil changes go by oil life or mileage? I've seen that the average oil life is around 8500 miles for normal use. I just can't see waiting that long. Also, I've heard that the first oil change should be around 1500 miles.
Thoughts?
