Newbie..engine light .. AC clutch engaging??

Hi folks, new to the site. My 05 Jimmy which I just bought had the engine light come on this morning. I noticed the light on after I felt what I though was a gear drop upon releasing the gas pedel going down a steep hill on the highway. When I arrived home I could hear the compressor clutch engaging a disengaging and am wondering if this might be the cause of the engine light.

All else is normal, oil pressure up and holding, alternator working normal, heat normal.

Any one able to provide some insight here. Winter is arriving so is there a fuse I can pull out so the AC clutch stop engaging? And, where is the ussual culprit for engine lights?
