Oil change time

I know my 2013 truck shows oil life in percent. I usually have changed the oil on my other vehicles at 5,000 miles. On the oil life percent how low should it get before you change the oil and filter?

I would say at 30-40 percent? That's usually what I do with my other vehicles.

I take mine down to 0% or every 4th month, close to it before i have it changed. A indicator comes on around 10% left as a reminder to service your engine oil soon.

If you are going to use synthetic oils, you can go further then whats recommended between oil changes. I use conventional oil on all my toys and do regular maintenance and find it more economical to use conventional for the amount of oil service i do a year.

P.S try to use marine grease to lubricate your drive train and front end. The grease may cost more, but is has a better water resistance then conventional grease and will make your u joints and front end components last that much longer.
