I've been looking online for info on where the oil pressure switch is located on an 08 gmc sierra 1500 5.3Lv8. All i could find (if it's even accurate) is it's behind the intake manifold??? that's just sounds ridiculous....and i looked all over the place...even took off the intake and engine cover and saw nothing! Can anyone help ??? I don't want to spend 20$ on a repair manual if possible

Thx ahead of time

lionshark, could you send me your VIN so I can try to find where this might be located for you? I hope to hear back from you soon.

yep it right behind the intake manifold. You can see it if you climb on top of the motor and look down the back left hand side.

Why do you want to know where it is would be my question? Are you having problems?

sorry about the delay in me posting....been verrrryyyyy busy

yea....i have a feeling that a mechanic put the wrong sensor in because the truck has lower oil pressure than it had before he worked on it (that's what the gauge says) sometimes at stoplights the oil pressure will go down to 5psi

also...i did switch the oil with a 5w30 conventional....should of gone full synthetic....that might b the issue also
and i know its common for most vehicles running conventional (organic) to burn the water off about a quart every 2thousand miles....but the trucks losing a quart and a half.....idk....the engine just got rebuilt...depending on the job they did....it might be slipping through the rings on the deactivating cylinders

i will post vin soon
thx guys
