Hi all. I am new to the forum, searched for this issue, but didn't see the exact problem. Thought I would try here.

I have a 2007 Denali. Drivers Side power seat seems stuck on one side when moving forward and back. The right side of the seat moves and the left doesn't so it binds the seat in place. I spoke to the dealer and they told me I have to replace the full power seat component and it wasn't worth it, at about $1800.00

it is currently bound in the far back position. I have 6 foot tall 13 year old twin girls and one of them is a bit cramped. I would like to get this fixed before our long summer drive.

Any suggestions?

I would take the seat out and look for a cracked seat frame. I had the same problem on the drivers side of my 1995. For that one though I ended up having to just drill holes in the frame and pretty much bolt it stationary where I needed it to be. Eventually even the weld repair would crack again if I kept moving the seat with the power motors.

Seat motor

First see if you have voltage to all of the motors. ID the one that doesn't work.Try pushing the button and smacking the motor with a hammer (not too hard!). If it doesn't respond, here is a link to Dorman's website for seat motors (they are the only ones in the aftermarket offering just the motor). http://www.dormanproducts.com/gsearch.aspx?type=keyword&origin=keyword&q=seat+motors You may find the exact motor you are looking for. As a side note, the dealers have a tendency to "shotgun" the repair (replace the whole assembly, hence the high bill.) Very few techs today DIAGNOS and REPAIR the vehicle.). If you need further help, PM me and I will be glad to talk to you. Mech
