power steering problems

I changed the power steering cooler lines on my 2002 gmc sierra 2500hd. Now when I step on the brakes and turn a corner at the same time I loose the power steering. After about 2 seconds after I release the brakes it comes back. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
