I started having problem with my new acadia shift incorrectly during the first week I owned it. I went back to the dealer and told them about the problem. Being a first year model they had to contact GM tech support. What they came up with is replacing a speed sensor and a module. This is where the problem is, the parts are on back order with no fim delivery date, maybe 2day, 2 weeks or 4 weeks. They have already had a week, this is longer than I have had the vehicle.

I really do not want spend the $2500 for sales tax and license without knowing that my vehicle is fixed and when. Is there any extenion for this.

I have to disagree with the person above who reccomended ford. In a Consumer Reports magazine, half the Fords got a reliability rating of average and the rest got a rating of worse than average.
Half of Toyota's got better than average and the rest got much better than average. Nissans have a rep for not being too reliable, but the Nissan Frontier got better than average for reliability..
Reality: Do not buy a ford unless you want it in the shop.
Now, getting to your question, I'm not sure. I would definatly stay on the dealer's tail to make sure they fix this soon...

I'm thinking about getting a GMC Envoy, so I hope this doesn't happen to mine.

Keep on the dealer until they fix it right. If they can't fix it they should give you a loaner truck free until they do fix it, but they probably won't. Good luck.

This is exactly why you don't buy GM because of its plasticy and cheap parts. Buy a Ford. Ford finally beat Toyota and Nissan in quality and reliability. So the answer above me is wrong. LOOK IT UP!!
