i have written earlier about how my 4x4 wont engage on my 96 jimmy with push button 4x4. i jacked up the jimmy and found that when i push the 4x4 button, the front axle will spin but will not power the wheels. after further investigation, i found that the front axle will spin all the time, in 2wd an 4wd. can anyone tell me if it is supposed to do that, and why i am getting no power to the front wheels in 4x4? thanks

i know ontop of my transmission( 99 gmc jimmy sl) theres a 3 plug vaccume hose, and pulgged in the right way i have 4hi 4lo and 2hi, but if its plugged in wrong i had solid 4wd all the time and no 2wd, and plugged in the other way i had only 2wd
i checked these and they are hooked up correctly. all vacuums and electrical connectons are connected. i noticed that the actuator under the battery tray didnt pull the cable when i pushed the 4x4 button? is this a bad actuator or didnt it pull the cable because the car was in park and the wheels werent moving?
