Question about a short in the wiring in my 2006 GMC Sierra 1500?

On the hvac control panel, one of the lightbulbs is out (off). Also, the front passenger side speaker is out too.. I banged under the dash with my hand and made both come back on. Also, my a/c fan knob doesn't function at level 5 max, but this is probably a separate issue.. What do I need to fix?

The circuits you mentioned should not have a common power feed, but they could very well have a common ground lug. Start with the speaker & follow the wire to ground, then see if that ground screw is tight....
