i have a suburban with 4x4(4wd) and was wondering if it would be better safety, performance, traction wise on the road and off road if it had been bought with 2wd or all wheel drive. which is the best? did i make a mistake getting it with 4wd. It weighs about 3 tons and gets about 18-20 mpg.
So far it has been in two collisions and the other car only bounced off of my suburban 's pipe bumper's (like bumper cars almost lol)and the only damage i get is the black paint on the bumper comes off and their is a small dent in one pipe bumper. I know weight has something to do with it weighing 3 tons. I wanted to get a new suburban or Yukon or suv from someone or gmc. I have noticed that new suv's only weigh 3/4 of a ton my other question is, is 3/4 ton suv's more vonerable to take a beating and not be as safe in accidents. I know my 3 ton suburban is definitely safe to be in when it come to being in a accident and on the road it never has hydroplaned.
