i've been all over my 99 suburban trying to figure out what this wirling noise that is emmanating on the driversside almost too the door. i've checked my blend door it's not comming from that. my brakebooster's not purging or anything like that. it only does this in park and it's really annoying about too rip the whole dash apart because it's driving me nutt's lol. i'm just wondering if anybody else may have had something similar and could give me an idea before i start ripping thing's appart.

From what you described, it sounds like it's your fuel pump in your sending unit. Try replacing the fuel filter first to take some stress off of the fuel pump, at wost your your fuel pump will need to be replace soon or the ground wire needs to be addressed which is separate from the sending unit's harness.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

Hey guy, if Molson02536 is correct and your fuel pump goes out and you happen to need any help just send me a private message, I just got finished doing mine this past weekend.

Take care,

i would be VERY suprised if it was your fuel pump. kinda hard to mistake that noise coming from the dash .:)

I to had a similar noise after the engine was replaced. But it only happens in the heat of the summer and I can make it change pitch and even go away. When I am at idle and it is making the noise, with the windows all the way up, I push 2 or 3 window "up" buttons and it goes away. If I operate only one window it changes pitch. If i rev the engine or put it in drive and accelerate it also goes away. Changed the alternater and no change. Kind of worried it might be the distributor because I do have a intermittent surge of 3to 400RPM at idle stopped in drive (that might even be a vacuum leak). Not a peep in the winter. All winter though, I get to listen to my turn signal clicking for no reason. It must be getting just enough voltage to click but not flash the lights on. I know I have an electric "gremlin" somewhere but have yet to find it. I think it happened a few years back when my fan speed switch fried itself. Happy hunting and good luck, I'll let you know what I find with mine (if I ever do).
