Hey guys,

My Rad fan is constantly running. I realize that the fan clutch is probably blown but since winter is coming and I won't be needing the fan any time soon would it be all that bad if I just took the fan off for the winter?

I'm just thinking that I am wasting a lot of gas by forcing the engine to turn the fan when it doesn't need to. As well, having the fan spin all the time will increase the time it will take for the engine to heat up in the winter.

What do you think?

Replace the fan clutch with a new one or if money is tight, there is always the Salvage yard and happy hunting. Just remember that you need to go get a rental tool from Auto Zone for the fan clutch wrench. It makes the job much easier and will take you just under 30 min from start to finish to replace the clutch fan.

Good luck and never run your engine without a radiator cooling fan, you never know if your going to get stuck in traffic without any air flow through your radiator when your just idling.
