I have a 2002 Envoy with the rear air suspension or whatever it is called. My problem is this: It will go down until the spare is almost touching the ground. When that happens, I have to stop the car, turn off the key, restart it and wait for it to pump up again. I am getting ready to get it fixed, but am wondering about what it would take to replace it with regular shocks or whatever. I bought the car used and I don't really care about the automatic levelers. I don't haul a boat or a camper or anything they might be needed for. I'll admit that I know nothing about this, but I just thought maybe someone out there could help me.

my rear bags were leaking also. I had my mechanic remove the bags and replace them with coil springs. Looks great, rides nice, and you can load up the back with no noticeable depression of the springs.

As Cueball94 says, you prob will not notice the difference. Unless you're loading the vehicle up and towing a trailer, the load levelers are not that necessary. If I was to replace them in our Envoy, I'd do the same thing.

Rear air suspension

I had the air suspension changed out for regular coil springs and it is doing fine. Thanks for the info.

hi there, I got a 03 envoy and im new to this also. it seems that my rear bags has a leak and im getting pretty tired of it. im thinking about doing the conversion too. my question is that after the conversion, do I need to worry about any leveler sensor being on and if so, how do I disable/disarm it? plus, is there a diy link in the forum where I could follow it through step by step on the conversion? any help would be helpful. thanks

were there any mounting brackets that comes with the kit for the conversion?
