can someone give me quick run through of what i have to do to put a new one in?

Whatever you do, disregard the first answer. You dont remove the rear diff cover nor change the fluid, and you are a ten year Lexus tech? Glad I dont take my car there, that's hilarious. Remove front wheels, loosen adjustment nut between inner and outer tie rods, remove outer tie rod, disconnect the two power steering lines at the rack, remove the steering shaft from rack, remove four bolts holding rack to frame, and remove rack. Install is pretty much the same just make sure to bleed it properly and have an alignment done afterwards.

Remove driveshaft, remove rear differential cover and drain fluid. Clean out differential. Remove axles, remove Ring gear/carrier assembly. Loosen pinion nut and remove. Remove pinion and pound out seal. Install new seal. Install new crush sleve and pinion. Torque to specs and check backlash. Reassemble the rest in reverse order. Refill fluid with 80/90 weight GL5 fluid, add limited slip additive if required.

NOTE: If you dont know what your doing this is not the job for a beginner and requires specialized tools, and precision measuring tools.
