I bought our 2009 Acadia for my wife. I actually live in Lansing , MI and thought it would be good to support our local assembly plant. I bought a Cruze for myself as the "dad go to work car". And that's the way it's always been for 20yrs. Our family is a GM family with relatives working for Hydramatic in Toledo and Ypsi. My first truck was a 75 Sierra Camping Series with a 4 bolt main. Sooo, my wife seen that GMC had 2014 Acadia in purple and wanted one. We had a bunch of points on our GM card too. I sold my Cruze and bought her a 2014 PURPLE Acadia. Igot the 2009 Acadia.
A week after that the tranny went out on the 2009. Wave plate. At 60K miles they rebuilt it and I paid for labor. BUT this is a GM transmission not Chrysler. GM is the Gold standard. Guess what? The tranny is still not right. It won't downshift right on inclines and shifts hard into 3rd and 5th gear. It's back In the shop again. I'm very anxious about the verdict. I've spent 80,000$ in the past 5 years on GMC. Will they stand by their loyal customer? We'll see. Now I don't trust the rebuilt process but I'm wondering is a remanufactured tranny any good?Could someone give me some advice on this? I still like the Acadias and they go great in the Michigan snow.
EDIT - I PUT 2008 IN TITLE BUT ITS A 2009 WE BOUGHT IN 2008. THX HONEY ;-)
