Remote Start Installed

and now my transmission don't shift properly, any ideas?
 
Did this occur at exactly the same time or was it around the same time? A remote start shouldn't affect transmission at all but if it was installed incorrectly then there is some potential for issues. Can you take it back to where it was installed? How is it shifting incorrectly?
 
Happened as I started to drive away from the place says error p0740 tcc solenoid circuit

Your remote starter has grounded out your TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) circuit, (Your Brake Peddle). You also may notice that you will not have cruise control and that your brake light my stay on.

Regardless, bring it back to the installer and have them go through the connections. The remote starter is wired to the brake peddle switch as a security safety measurement. Anyone hit's the brake peddle without the key's in the ignition will shut the engine off.

Hitting the brake peddle also will disengage the TCC, cruse control and activate the brake lights. ;)
 
What if that don't fix it.. He said that he disconnected it and same problem

Your going to have to take it to a transmission shop that has a Tech2 scanner and they can read if it's the transmission that is grounded or it's the TCM on your PCM that has gone bad from a short.

Hope it's not the PCM that has gone bad from a short from your remote starter. I have seen this before where the wrong connections was made and cooked the TCM in the PCM and had to get the unit replaced. :eek:

Regardless your going to need a Tech2 to read the PCM's commands, it just might be that your TCC solenoid has gone bad and that's a $20.00 part. The bad news is that you have to drop the transmission pan to replace it.:eek:

Good/bad News
Found fuse for pcm blown so replaced it and same problem so going to replace it but just so I can be sure on this the pcm is the whole unit under the hood by tje battery? And will the one from a 99 chevy 1500 work if it is the same motor and tranny

It will if it's the same year, once you do replace it. Your going to have to do the passlock security reset.

I do know Auto Zone sells re-manufactured PCM for around $150.00. Good luck and keep us posted.;)
 
so if i can get a pcm from a 2000 gmc/chevy with same motor and tranny all i need to do is reset the passlock... which just means leaving key in ignition turned to the on position for abour 10 min correct?

but a 1999 gmc/chevy pcm or a 2001 gmc/chevy pcm will not?

Before you go through all the work, have the pcm tested with a Tech2 scanner. It might just need to be re-flashed :eek:

wrong fuse that was blown it was an accesory fuse that had something to do with the a/c... i read the fuse diagram wrong cause it said ign fuse on it :mad: .... ill have to check around for a dealership with a tech 2 scanner... once again thank you so much for your advice
 
If the pcm went out would the diagnostics tool show more than one code

Your PCM is also the TCM (Transmission Control Module), as mentioned have a Tech2 scanner hooked up by a transmission shop and they can command the transmission servos to activate to determine if it's a the transmission or the PCM that needs to be addressed. ;)

Most likely when the brake peddle switch was tapped is when your PCM went bad. Make sure you don't cross the wires that needs to be connected to your brake peddle switch.

You transmission TCC is controlled by the brake peddle light switch to have your brake peddle activate and deactivate.
