Okay, what batteries have you had success with? I have an'05 2500hd 4x4,6l gaser, with original ac delco, which has never failed me. I will need to replace soon and wondering what everyone else is selecting? I have a fwc on the back, and my sock alternator is busy at times, helping charge the house batteries. Thanks cp

Get your self the highest rated battery for your Sierra, 770 CCA rated battery with a long reserve capacity, this was an option for your Sierra. Make sure that its a deep cycle battery to give your Sierra long battery service.

I am using marine battery which as class as deep cycle batteries. If you can get a CCA larger then 770 and will fit in your battery box. You'll have more years of trouble free service.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

thanks for your suggestion. What i have found regarding Optimas made within the last few years, is not appealing. Made now in Mexico and many are reporting no more than three years service before needing replacement. The ones of old, made in the USA, were great batteries, but apparently not so any longer. The industry is consolidating and choices are getting harder to make. I'm now considering Odyessy 1500DT rated at CCA 850 with reserve capacity of 135minutes. Any feed back??? Thanks
