The truck needs new ball joints. In looking at all of the suspension/steering parts there is an awful lot of rust on everything and the bushings are all dry rotted.....especially the upper control arms. Since replacement uppers have the ball joint already pressed in I was thinking of just replacing the whole part. I want to keep the lower control arms and I would like to know if I can replace the lower ball joint without removing the torsion bar and driveaxle? Also, is there anything else I should replace since I will have everything apart? I want to get everything right the first time. Thanks.

You don't have to remove the torson bars to replace the lower ball joints, but you are going to have to loosen the axle nut to be able to move the spindle to remove the lower ball joints. Here is a link to your front suspension.

Good luck and be safe. :D
