Follow up
For starters, I've found customer service at Rosen to be somewhat punishing. In fairness I only spoke with one rep who seemed to think his purpose was to make my call as difficult as possible. Despite the fact the system itself advised to check for updates to the maps, and the owner's manual not only advises the same, but also list Naviextras.com as the site to do so - he asked "who told you to update the maps." He then said you should never update the maps. So much for Rosen customer service. The dealer who installed the system is doing his best to help. At this point he suggest reloading the backup I saved prior to the update. He also suggested he may try another SD if the backup does not work. Hopefully, Rosen's tech assistance for dealers far exceeds their customer service.
