Rough Country leveling kit

Has anyone used a Rough Country leveling kit? If so, do you like it? Why or why not? thanks in advance......
 
Never had the Rogh Country kit but my truck has the Sky Jacker 2" leveling kit. I've only had the truck a few days but I really like the way it levels the front end with the rear and it appears to have no impact on the handling of the truck.
 
I put the Pro Comp leveling kit on my truck which is an 06 work truck and I haven't had a problem with it. Personally, I think I should have went with the Rought Country since more people are using that than the pro comp.
 
One thing i noticed is Rough Country's kits don't hurt the wallet. I found a leveling kit that comes with new shocks(front and rear) and all the parts to level it out for less than $200.... But i don't know if its a good quality product. if not i'll skip the headaches and go straight to a ProComp or SkyJacker kit.
 
All a leveling kit comes with is new torsion keys. So in theory can't you get the same affect by tightening up the torsion bars? Just a thought, I am looking into a leveling kit too, but figured if that would work it would save a lot of money.
 
from what i understand the stock torsion keys dont lift enough to level when turned all the way in and doing that puts excessive stress on the torsion bars.... i have see torsion bars break, on a ford though and not due to tightening keys, and it can be violent and damaging...
 
That is probably exactly the reason you never talk to anyone who has done it that way. lol
 
If I buy the leveling kit, what's the largest size tire can I put on my 09 sierra z71
 
the recommended tire size for the kit i'm lookin at is 285/70.... heres some links, the first one is for the kit ive been lookin at but its for trucks 99-06 so if your ride is newer you'll have to back track... the second link is a feature in Petersen's 4wheel drive and off-road magazine about the kit im lookin at. its shows step by step installation instructions so you can see whats involved with leveling a truck...

leveling kit

I was watching trucks on spike and they happen to be updating a silverado
and they were using daystar leveling torsion keys the company name is daystar products international inc they were using other products to update the truck as well

I have no idea who they are nor am I endorsing them but it might be another option to check if you wanted

well i put the Rough Country leveling kit on last weekend and the truck turned out great. All together (tires, mount and balance, lift kit, alignment) was just over $1000. I dont have any before pictures handy but most of you know how the "lean" looks. i do have an after shot tho.
