I have a 2007 Sierra diesel. I left an accessory plugged in and ran the batteries dead. After charging the batteries and starting the truck, I have a "service four wheel drive" message. I have checked all the fuses. I disconnected the batteries for a while and checked the ground wire. The lights on the 4x4 knob come on at startup but none stay on. Is there anything else I can do or should I take it to a dealer?

I had a 2003 Sierra Denali with the 6.0. I seem to recall getting that same message after a dead battery, in my case shutting it off and restarting it after the battery charged sufficiently seemed to take care of it. I also had the "service 4 wheel steer" come up a few times, also seemed to clear when restarted.

If it doesn't clear I would suggest a trip to the dealer. Sorry.
