Brake Booster Replacement:

1. Apply the park brake and block the wheels.
2. Remove the brake master cylinder. Remove the hydraulic line from the brake booster check valve.
3. Remove the push rod retaining clip from the brake pedal stud .
4. Remove the stop lamp switch and the push rod from the brake pedal stud.
5. Remove the 4 booster mounting nuts. Remove the booster.
Remove the gasket from the booster and discard.
6. Install the gasket to the booster. Install the vacuum booster.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

7. Install the 4 booster mounting nuts.Tighten the nuts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
8. Install the push rod and the stop lamp switch to the brake pedal stud.
Install the push rod retaining clip to the brake pedal stud.
9. Install the vacuum hose to the brake booster check valve. Install the master cylinder. Release the park brake and unblock the wheels.
