***WARNING*** I need your help but since this my very first thread I'm giving y'all some background info, sorry it's long but I'm not mechanically inclined and I don't have a lot of money to fix whatever is the issue -- I may need my truck to live out of here soon so I am desperate to make it run. Thanks in advance for enjoying your cup of coffee while you read my thread! :)

Hey everyone, I'm Jesika, and I own an 01 Yukon XL, 5.3L 2WD 1500. I bought it this summer and according to the carfax, it had one owner and was towed around a lot. Even though it had 243k miles on it, based off what I could afford at that time and in my area, this was the best buy available, with no accident history.

45 days in, I wound up dead on the highway, and come to find out I needed a new gas pump and fuel filter, as the filter apparently hadn't been changed in 5 years. So...there goes the trust and faith in my carfax/dealer's version of the history, but thankfully things went along smoothly after that. (August 2013)

Until Halloween last week. I'm about 500 miles off of my next oil change, and the low coolant alert had popped on but not yet been filled, and the service engine light comes on.

Took the truck to AutoZone and it threw codes for a misfire, as well as fuel bank lean on 1&2 (which are same codes I got that led to replacement of pump in August, so I know it's not either the pump or the filter, lol)... Took it down the street to a mechanic who put it on his computer, and looked it over, and basically told me I need a tune up but that a tune up doesn't exist at his shop, and so piece-by-piece things would be like $500.00. Currently I'm unemployed and money is a huge factor so I opted to read what a "tune up" consisted of and do the tune up myself since that is such a standard thing -- any idiot can do it with the help of google now, right? :)

Anyway, so yesterday I changed my spark plugs and engine air filter, disconnected the negative battery cable for a minute, and upon start up today I got some shaking/low-but-new noise on startup along with a blinking service engine light. I didn't drive anywhere until I re-started the engine, and at this point, a little rumbling but the engine light is now solid again.

Drove three miles, turned off the engine. Turned it back on. Off again, and then on to drive a few more miles back to the Auto Zone. By this time, the light is still solid but there is no shaking. Auto Zone ran the code machine again and I now as of today I have the following codes:

P0171 - Fuel trim bank one
P0774 - Fuel trim bank two
P0300 - Cylinder misfire detected, random cylinders

Now...I'm in no way an expert as nobody taught me zilch about mechanics of a car growing up, and due to that, I was always the girl who took advantage (and was likely taken advantage of) of taking my car to a shop and letting someone else fix whatever problem I had, but...from what I can tell by the info in front of me...

Was told that misfire code can throw lean bank codes, and being that I just changed the pump/filter and used much Lucas to clean injectors, I ought start diagnosing misfire code? Which according to my paper from AutoZ could be caused by ignition system fault-spark plugs, ignition wires or coil...OR Vacuum leak...OR injector fault...OR high or low fuel pressure.

All of that is greek to me, but being that I did the spark plugs (but not the round ?coil? things on the engine block), what would those of you who know about this vehicle do next?? Coils? Vacuum thing? Go get injectors cleaned (like what, with a toothbrush? Lady at AutoZ said she wouldn't do that herself, and that if there was gunk that eventually Lucas would eat it all up, but there was not too much gunk in there when I did the pump replacement in August...???)

Thanks much guys, you rock if you made it this far!!!

Start with the simple and clean your MAF sensor. Autozone I believe sell the cleaner for the MAF sensor.

Post back and stay safe.;)
