ok just today, my engine, with only 96504 miles on it developed a horribly loud rod knock, it has plenty of oil, never burnt any, but im not gonna try and fix it, im not dealing with it anymore, what i want to know that if i were to get a 305, or even a 350, would it just "drop in", i know that the tranny will fit but are the motor mounts the same, or do i have to fabricate my own? any help will be appreciated

You 1993 is not that hard to convert with the right kit installed. Here is a link that should help you answer any questions you may have. I've done a few and the only issues was when it was time to service the engine and the steering shaft clearance.

Good luck and keep us posted and don't for get to swap out the servo in the transmission with Corvette servo's and replace your boost valve and sleeves with a 0.500" Boost valve. This will ensure that you don't burnout your transmission. :D

A couple of years ago I did a v8 swap an 90 blazer and this was the engine I put in it. http://www.mycatz2fat.com/resources/66ele.jpg It was a 400 putting out about 450HP. Here's some more pics of all the parts we put in it. http://www.mycatz2fat.com/resources/s-10+001.jpg http://www.mycatz2fat.com/resources/s-10+002.jpg http://www.mycatz2fat.com/resources/s-10+003.jpg

There are companies (we used moroso) that make the motor mounts for the swap. I don't remember who we got the headers from but the driver side came in two pieces making it a breeze to install even with the steering hooked up. The hardest part was building a 2 1/2" exhaust with a crossover pipe and tucking it in tight so people couldn't see it.
