I'm in the process of haveing my starter rebuilt. It needs a drive gear and a selenoid. I was told by one guy that would be considered a rebuild and that he would also clean, oil and resurface the armature. There's another thays closer to me that would also clean it up and I'm assuming they will oil it up but didn't mention anything about resurfacing the armature. The 1st guy said 50 the 2nd guy said 59.

What is a fair amount to charge for labor on putting it back on. I wish i could do it but I cant.

$50 is inexpensive for a mechanics time and if he's also re-surfacing the armature then bingo!
The first guy :)

That's 50 bucks to fix the starter..What is a fair price to put it back on truck?

If it goes in smoothly then it shouldn't even take 30 minutes.
I would pay 40$ for it to be installed at most.
