Starter Removal 1994 GMC Jimmy. HELP!?

I have a 94 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3L Vortec V6. I need to remove the starter. I have it unbolted and the wires disconnected but its not comming out of the area its in. Its getting hung up on the frame, engine and transmission. There is no crossmember to remove. I really need some good advice. HELP ME PLEASE! (Its out of the transmission. Its just freely stuck in a small area.)

I had a 96 Jimmy which i had to do the starter on. I don't believe there are additional shims or brackets on the 4.3L. I do remember that it was very difficult. There is a certain tilt and twist, once you get the right angle it comes out. Putting it back in is just as hard. Keep trying different angles and twists and you'll get it. I wish i could be more technical, but that's how i got it.
