Steering wheel controls

Hi, my '00 Jimmy has the radio steering wheel controls. If I wanted to get an aftermarket stereo, would there be a way that these controls would work with the radio?

It's just a thought I've had, this thing came with the bose system, so I'm not thinking of replacing it anytime soon.
