It's always a pleasure for a first post to be a request for help...

So, I owned a 2002 Impala, a weak Dodge driver saw fit to make his insurance pay for it.

So, I found a 1998 GMC Jimmy that was for sale. Obviously a beater with a heater...

Here's the skinny on it so far, and places I need help.

The HVAC will blow vent air, and that's it. I've already read that apparently it could be a vacumn leak. I'm guessing I need a gauge to be able to work from the vacumn output at the engine, then work back from there to the HVAC unit?

The rear wiper is non-functional. The fuse was pulled because when it was engaged all it would do is make noise... which makes me think the gearbox is stripped out. So, I need to fix that.

The drivers seat is power, however the forward/back adjustment is nonfunctional. The motor clicks as though it's trying to move it. Any ideas other than a bad motor? It's obviously trying to move it, seat raise and tilt works.

Another problem with the AC in general is that in all honesty I need a whole new panel for the dash. The vents are damaged, and one on/off vent is actually missing and the shaft the flapper would ride in, has a broken end so it's done. Where's a good source to get a new one?

Basically, the biggest problem of all right now is the heater issue. I live in Alaska and being able to control the heat, and direction it's going in, is life or death.. lol.

I've looked at the schematics posted in other threads about the issue, but if someone could tie together a schematic of what goes where, to where it actually is (and preferably the easiest way to get to it) you would be a godsend.

Also, any special tools I might need to be able to repair it, provided I *do* have good vacumn, would be a great help so I don't get 3/4 of the way through and end up throwing wrenches because I have to go buy a 3/18ths Yonker wrench and associated Nork Couplings... or whatever.

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance... This truck is in good running shape, it's just little nitpick things that I need to fix (although the nitpick things helped me get it CHEAP :D )
