the 08 sierra I just bought had general grabbers AT2 265/70/17s on it; will changing tires to more of a highway and not so much of an all terrain tire affect my gas at all? What tires do you guys run?

When you replace your tires with more of a highway tires, your going to get better gas mileage and run smother.

Just make sure your tires are the same diameter as the one you have on now or you can drop the diameter size and go wider to give you better traction. But the wider the tires are the less traction you will get on wet and snowy conditions.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

Its possible to get better mileage changing tires but the amount realized will be small so as not to have any noticeable effect IMO. It also possible to have a smoother ride. BUT not all tires are the same so you could also have the opposite affect, worse ride and worse mileage.

In all honesty I doubt you will notice a thing.

Some tire manufactures (Michelin) claim their tires get better mileage but they are also more expensive tires.

I've just heard of low rolling resistance tires, but I don't know how practical they are for a truck.

It just did a casual search and found the these tires are not offered in a truck size like for a 4x4, mostly for econobox cars.
