I'm not really a tonneau cover person, mine had an access cover with Velcro on sides that rolled up so I could still throw a washer or wheeler in the back but not that secure! So now I have a topper for the dogs and a trailer for the wheeler. My other truck has a fiberglass tonneau cover which locks but I can't throw the dogs in there or haul anything with height. Couple things to consider, hope it helps some.

cons on hard covers, gotta leave it at home if you think you'll need to carry something. Pros, will last a looong time. But pricey, $500 and up..
cons on soft cover (from owning several), they'll eventually wear our from the elements, but the new tri-folds install easy, look good and cost around $230.00 online. Lots of Youtube videos on installations..
