I am planning to get a new GMC Sierra with the Power Tech package.

What is the most that any of you have towed on a regular basis and what gas milage did you get? I might be getting a travel trailer and I don't want to get more trailer than I can tow comfortably and not put too much strain on the truck.

Thanks, Pete

Thanks for the link.

I wanted to get some real world information. Sometimes what is published from the company does not jive with what people are really finding.

Thanks, Pete

2011 Sierra 1500, 5.3, 6 speed auto, 4x4, 3.42 towing a 4000 lb trailer I get approx. 16 mpg (Imp.)

If I have my conversion and math right that should be about 13.3 MPG (US). That still is not bad.

PGDriver, does the truck perform pretty well with the 4000# trailer??

Thanks, Pete

2011 Gmc sierra 5.3 6 speed trans 5k miles towing 4k boat get 15 to 16 mpg. Tows no problem but i did just have to have my motor rebuild at 5k. Sugest you buy a ford.

Your math is right on Pete and yes it performs great. The 16 MPG Imperial were achieved with a combination of about 85% highway and 15% city driving on holidays in Alberta which is a very flat province. My average highway speed was 105 -110 KPH.
