Ive got an 07' savana with 74 k miles. Recently it started shifting hard from 1 st - 2nd gear. Indicator light is on saying tranny component slipping. Ive heard of this problem , any ideas of what to check or where to start?

I had to have my transmission replaced at about 69K miles. Seems the 2500 series vans have the same transmission as the minivan. Only the 3500 series have a heavier duty transmission.

Savanna Tranny

Have had the transmission replaced twice and it's now slipping in high gear and jolting the vehicle sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Will a filter and fluid change help this condition.
Any ideas as to any other cause for this. I56K miles on vehicle that has otherwise served me well.

Service the transmission and replace the boost valve and sleeve. Also replace the transmission fluid with Castol TranSynd™ transmission fluid.

TranSynd™ is a new, synthetic automatic transmission fluid developed by Castrol and specially engineered to replace the Dextron transmission fluid GM uses.

Read the information on the 4L60E transmission on this link. ;)
