Tranny dip stick mount bracket broken

Hey Guys,

I have a 2011 GMC 1500 Sierra 5.3l 6sp tranny

anyone else had the bracket holding the Tranny dip stick tupe break before??

I havent abused or gone offroading at all... hwy tracktor is all she is!

Same Problem Dealer Fixed

Hey Warts,i bought the same vehichle back in july,talked to you on this forum i think in aug -sept maybe i was concerned about the afm engine at that time,but anyways when i took my truck in at about 2000 miles to change oil to pure synthetic,i noticed the transmission stick had a bad vibration in it setting ideling i showed it to the tech he said that that looked like it might cause a problem later on.the next time i was down at the dealer i was talking to him he said they had came out with a improved transmission stick housing for those 6 speed transmissions,they got mine fixed,i dont know if that fixed the problem or not i sold the truck back in november,i could not get comfortable with that afm engine,went and bought a 2012 tacoma.good luck

took it to the dealer they replaced the dipstick tube no questions asked!!
