Tranny Trouble 2008 Seirra

I've posted before but no response I have trouble with the truck shifting between 1st and 2nd then 2nd to 3rd. The truck has a 5.3 motor 4 speed tranny,ext cab 4x4. It has 85,000kms on it. Tranny fluid is browny red witch I beleive means that the tranny is slipping correct? Anybody have any ideas??

Do we assume this is an automatic transmission? If so what does it do when it shifts. When was the last time you changed the fluid? Need a little more info.

it is an automtaic. from how he talks about how the TRUCK shifts. change the fluid and filter and maybe even have the system flushed and see if that doesnt help the problem are you haveing any type of codes poping up?

There were codes that came up but I could not tell you what they were as I was not the one that took it to the garage where it was bought. The truck does have a auto tranny, and thankfully still has factory warranty it is heading to a GM dealer on Mon I will keep you posted as to the results of that thanks for the input.

Is it Slipping...or just not shifting.....?

If it's not shifting or shifting hard it could be a bad shift solonoid or crud in the valve body...

Best to have it looked at...they can read any transmission codes.

Sometimes a good valve body and solonoid cleaning can fix it...
