Type of rear end in 06 Sierra SLT

The reason im asking is truck is fine normal driving but the other day was pulling out of a red light going straight on a wet road and was getting a banging sound from the rear end as the tires started to spin.

This happened again turning left and accelerating hard the left rear wheel started making a banging noise and you could feel it. Bbut normally there is no noise.

I just bought this truck in july and need to find what is causing this before the winter.

sounds like the tire spinning locked the rear end in posi traction.... and while turning with it in posi will cause wheel hop.. if you turned left then it was probably the left rear that was hoppin..... thats just how posi works... theres nothin wrong with the rear end.. that just means it works properly, i would not worry...
