99' GMC Jimmy I need to replace the engine compartment rubber vacuum lines. Without pulling out a tape measure, I noticed at least 2 sizes of tubing, some elbows and some tees. Anyone have an idea of I.D. sizes, amount in footage and how many fittings I may need? Would like to get enough to save on multiple trips to the hardware and auto store.

I've replaced all the vacuum lines (that I could find) in the engine compartment. So far have used 14 ft of 5/32 line, 18 inches of 7/32 line and 1 inch of, maybe 3/8 inch line (not sure of size, just matched it up at hardware store).

So, what got me going on this was vehicle refusal to engage 4wd. And at 6,000 ft elevation, in winter, when I put my foot into throttle, windshield fan defroster air dropped out. Further evaluation suggested that old, crumbly vacuum lines, if not the cause surely weren't helping.

Hope I'm not getting too wordy here, but here's the deal. A vacuum line (5/32) behind and below the abs unit, passes into the driver side wheel well. I'm hoping to get to it by loosening the underside wheel well bolts. I'm guessing it continues on into the passenger compartment. Can any one jump in on this? Happy, Molson, or any one else?
