Engine Size 4.3 Liter
Engine miles 198,000
Intake manifold gasket, Fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs & wires, coil pack, rotor button, & cap have all been replaced.
Engine misses for about 200 feet and then it will run smooth for the rest of the day. Fuel tank has also been checked for trash.

A bad fuel pressure regulator can cause unsteady idle, poor MPG, loss of power, surging. You must have the CPI engine.

Just pull the intake plenum and look for washing. The gas will wash out, typically on side or the other. If you replace the FPR consider replacing the nut kit too (the two hoses that bring fuel into the plenum). Replace the plenum gasket, clean out the plenum and it is off to the races.
