Start with the simple and try cleaning your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. The IAC is located on your throttle body, so clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Pay attention to the IAC passageways to ensure your get the IAC cleaned. Make sure your use throttle body cleaner, Carburetor is to corrosive to the gaskets used on the throttle body.
What happens is that carbon builds up on the IAC, causing it to stick and not work properly and in turn not be able to adjust the engine's RPM to compensate for the different loads when your engine is just idling. If the IAC is to far gone with carbon build up, chances are your going to have to replace the IAC.
