I have a 1994 jimmy with 4.3 Vortec. Started with a problem Friday of last week. Before it started fine, but then started last week on Friday with hard to start but eventually did. Was on way home from work last night and it broke down on me...it lost power first then completely died on me. It will turn over but will not fire. Thought it may have been the ignition control module under the distributor, but replaced with a new one and thats not the issue. Changed the plugs in it Saturday, but problem started a little bit before that. Turns over fine and fuel pump is priming (can hear the whine).
Other than this coming up, there has been no indication of any problems. Changed plugs because it was starting to miss every once in a while and it had been awhile since they had been changed. Auto parts store gave me wrong wires (go figure!), so still need to do those. Before it died, I had put gas treatment in it (figuring maybe bad gas) and some 93. At this point, I am not sure where else to look. Maybe the fuel filter is plugged up, but even after sitting for 30 mins, still wouldnt start. Any input would be appreciated as to what the cause of this could be. Thanks in advance!
