What tranny do i have ?? / and manuals out there ?

Hello I have a 2008 GMC SIERRA 5.3 CREW CAB 4 x 4 OFF ROAD PACKAGE pick up im tring to find out by the VIN what tranny i have i think its a 4L60e or 4L65e what one is it if those and the differnce also does any one have MANUAL info a free online one or something or RIP YOURS on to a DVD DATA disk PDF flie and I send you $ 10.00 thank you for looking and have a great day Ant.
 
I have looked all over the internet Trying to decipher what t ransmission I have with the vin I cannot find any info on it any help would be greatly appreciated thank you so very much also what is the recommended to do a transmission pan filter replacement as far as 53,000 miles on the vehicle right now
 
ATV, you could send me your VIN and I can look into to see which transmission you have. Also for service manuals we use Helm Inc. Their website it www.helminc.com. They have a plethora of manuals from Owners Manuals to Service Manuals and just about everything in between. They should have what you're looking for. I hope this helps.

By manual, do you mean "Owners Manual"? 2008 Sierra Owners Manual

I looked in my Wix Filter Catalog and there is no mention of a 4L65E for 2008. I can find no reference to 4L65E trans in use in New body style trucks...

Service manuals costs 100's of $, so finding FREE copies would be rare. I am sure anyone selling them or giving them away is taking big risks for copy-write infringement, as well as those receiving boot-leg copies. So I afraid if you want a service manual, you have to buy it..
 
GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE you had asked for my vin and then you were going to try to tell me what transmission I had well I provided the pin can you now please help me in identifying my transmission type THANK YOU very much to everyones help ANT ......
 
Look in the glovebox for the rpo label

M30 4L60-E
M70 4L70-E

No 4L65-E used in 2008

4L70-E was mostly used with 6.0L engines in 1500, Vortec Max etc.
 
I checked your vin and you have the transmission code of M30 which looks to be the standard 4L60 4 speed transmission paired to your LH6 5.3L V8 engine. I hope that helps you ATV. Sorry I didn't respond sooner.
