What type of antifreeze on a gmc sierra?

First off GM antifreeze is not compatible with regular antifreeze.

You can tell the difference in the color. GM antifreeze is reddish were regular antifreeze is greenish in color.

Standard Prestone antifreeze will not interchange with Gm's Dexrol antifreeze.

When you buy antifreeze if you don't GM antifreeze you have to make sure what you are buying is labeled as being compatible with GM antifreeze.

Its 2004 it has 113000 miles

This post should help you keep your Sierra running like new. Your going to have to use http://www.prestone.com/products/print/411?popup=1 with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Also since your coolant has been in there for more then 5 years, your going to need to flush it out with http://www.prestone.com/products/print/424?popup=1. This will keep get any crystallized Dexcool out of your system and keep your cooling system running 100%

Read this post and it should help you get the job done. I know lots of ppl complain about the use of Dexcool but then again in most cases they have not serviced there coolant like they should and keep it in there for more then 5 years and never check on it's concentration ratio.

Good luck and keep us posted. ;) http://gmcowners.com/gmc-forum/showthread.php?t=15262
