What will cause the air not to come out the vents on a 97 Gmc Suburban?

I'm having the same issue with my 99 Suburban. When the truck is first started air is available everywhere. After driving for a while the air disappears from outputs. Turn fan to high and the fan can be heard, but no air is coming out of vents upper, middle or lower. Will update when any new information is uncovered.

On my 99 the fan speed switch cooked itself. I fixed that then noticed, air would not come out of the vents or the defrost vents, only the floor vents. Got to checking the wires and found a green wire going to the direction control to be hot. The book said it should be a ground, so I cut the wire to see what would happen. the vent direction controls then worked. I still have that wire lifted and it works fine, go figure?????? Oh yeah, when I went to fix the speed switch I was able to get the knob and female side of the harness for a few bucks at the dealer. They don't sell just the male end of the harness(of course the most melted piece I had to fix). They will sell you the whole harness 300 plus bucks!!! So I figured I would go to bone yard, yeah right, 8 yes 8 different 99 models (pick ups and burbs) and every last one had the male ends cut off the harness. I tell you this because to me, it seems like that was a common issue with these things. GOOD LUCK to you both!!!
