without getting too technical here, an engine is basically an air pump. make it more efficient and you can get better mileage. easier to get air in and easier to get air out. intake and exhaust. just changing those two things will yield more power and better gas mileage as long as you don't act like most of us and use that new horsepower too much. doing a k&n cold intake and dual flowmaster exhaust with a crosspipe and mendrel bends might give you 5 mpg more
